Julie Pauwels decided at a very young age to learn drawing and turned to art studies at the age of 16. She is a graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Lyon and the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris.
Passionate about painting, photography and books, she pursued a career as an artistic director for 20 years, in major Parisian publishing houses.
Julie continues her personal research in painting and photography. For her, "Art is to offer the possibility of marveling and questioning oneself". She likes to paint in oil on her landscape photographs, to draw portraits with colored pencils or to paint interiors in wash... it is the wealth of possibilities and the freedom in the technique that motivate the expression of his art.
Also a drawing and painting teacher in the Workshop, Julie likes to share and pass on her experience and knowledge.
She exhibited her work for the first time in Paris in 2012 at the Galerie La Ralentie, then at the Espace Beaurepaire, the Galerie Noëlle Aleyne... as well as in the provinces.
