Bénédicte Gimonnet's fascination with nature and its environment, from the infinitely small to the infinitely large, is the source of her creative process and her inspiration: her paintings explore the power of light and the energy of colors.
His latest "SEZ" series, made with the most unexpected painting materials, is an invitation to travel to the lush vegetation of the Seychelles, where the artist was just before weeks of introspection and confinement due to Covid. While she was working in her studio, confined, remembering these tropical landscapes, her paintings became metaphors of freedom, dreams and escape, but above all a source of identity questioning, bringing back fragments of memories of exotic Peru and colorful from his childhood.
Bénédicte Gimonnet was born in Clermont-Ferrand, France. She graduated in fine arts painting from Wimbledon College of Arts (UAL) and has undertaken numerous projects in Europe and the USA. She has lived and worked in the UAE since 2009 and is a member of the Emirates Fine Art Society.
